zondag, augustus 8th, 2010

Quote from 1989:

Poet Allen Ginsberg will give a reading to climax NAMBLA’s 13th Membership Conference, scheduled November 10-12 in New York City. [...] America’s premier living poet, Ginsberg helped launch the Beat movement in literature, both with the quality of his own work and his tireless promotion of other writers such as Jack Kerouac and William Burroughs. Advocacy for children dominated by females and heterosexuals is not enough

zaterdag, juli 31st, 2010

Quote from 1990:

Advocacy for children that is dominated by females and heterosexuals is not enough. Males, including those who have the gift of being gay, pederast, and pedophile, have unique perspectives on children’s welfare. A sensitive and democratic child advocacy also includes the contributions of adults who, as young persons, had the pleasure of a positive sexual relationship with an adult. [...]

NAMBLA founder killed

vrijdag, juni 25th, 2010

Quote from 1988:

The man who murdered former NAMBLA activist Bob Burdick was sentenced last December to serve 10-32 years in prison. Edward Patterson, 39, was a roommate of Burdick’s when he murdered him in July 1985. Patterson, who has a long history of psychiatric problems and served two years in jail for threatening Reagan, claimed that he killed Burdick to keep him from having sex with young people. Prosecutor Joel Seideman said the killing was sparked by a money dispute. [...]

‘I was not sexually molested’

zaterdag, april 24th, 2010

Quote:

Caller (male): I’m calling from Palm Beach, Florida. I was not sexually molested, I was sexually aroused when I was twelve by my 24-year-old cousin. And when I was seventeen, I moved in with him, and we have a strong loving relationship now. What I’m interested in knowing is what percent of members of Mr. [David] Thorstad’s organization [NAMBLA] have been so lucky.

‘NAMBLA is fighting for my rights as a young person’

vrijdag, april 23rd, 2010

Quote:

I am a member of NAMBLA, and have been since I was 15 years old, because NAMBLA is fighting for my rights as a young person. The state says I have no right to control my own body, to have sex with whomever I choose. The state restricts my ability to earn a living, and says who I can and cannot live with. NAMBLA concerns itself with the rights of young people to have some measure of control over their own lives. We believe that the sexual oppression of children is one of the important tools society uses to control its young.

Why Be a Part of NAMBLA?

vrijdag, april 23rd, 2010

Quote:

Shortly before joining NAMBLA, I encountered a new source of outrage: I heard a report on National Public Radio describing an explosion in the growth of ”treatment centers” for so-called ”juvenile sex offenders” in Texas. In these centers, teenaged and pre-teen boys are told that any non-normative sexual desires (i.e. anything not approved by the shrinks) on their part are signs of fundamental flaws in their constitution – that they are, deep down inside, damaged people, who must fight their evil impulses eternally, but who will never win the fight against their inborn demons.

NAMBLA Affirms Membership in ILGA

dinsdag, februari 2nd, 2010

Quote:

NAMBLA has been a member of the International Lesbian and Gay Association for 10 years. We’ve been continuously active in ILGA longer than any other US organization. NAMBLA delegates to ILGA helped write ILGA’s constitution, its official positions on the sexual rights of youth, and its stands against sexual coercion and corporal punishment. We are proud of our contributions in making ILGA a stronger voice for the international gay and lesbian movement and for sexual justice.

Ostensibly to protect a group but ultimately to oppress it

zaterdag, november 14th, 2009

Quote:

NAMBLA is often falsely portrayed in the media as an organization of ”child molesters” in part because we have consistently and adamantly opposed age-of-consent laws. Of course, the media never seems to follow up with any questions about why we oppose them. We see age-of-consent laws operating in our society in much the same way as burquas function in fundamentalist Islamic societies – ostensibly to protect a group but ultimately to oppress it. We reject the notion that sexual love is so horrible that (in our case) men and boys must be kept firmly apart by the most dire methods.

Hein Verkerk: ”She did a hell of a job”

vrijdag, april 17th, 2009

Citaat:

”She did a hell of a job”, zegt Hein Verkerk [GroenLinks] waarderend over haar optreden daar.
